Congress relationship with Chinese Communist Party

Image
As tensions are mounting between India and China amidst the ongoing aggression from Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control near Galwan Valley at Ladakh resulting in the death of 20 Indian soldiers and over 40 casualties on the Chinese side, there seems to be no-coherence between the opposition parties in the country as they have yet again resorted to cheap politicking of issues critical to national security. At a time when the opposition parties, especially the Congress party has been castigating the Modi government over the ongoing standoff and subsequent Chinese aggression along the LAC on Monday resulting in the unfortunate death of Indian soldiers, more details are emerging regarding the intimate connection between the Congress party and the Communist Party of China (CPC) – the ruling and only political party in China. The Congress party’s kid-glove treatment to China and the soft-condemnation against the Communist nation has now raised eyebrows as to know why the principa

WHY THE CHINESE ATTACKED WITH CLUBS?

Image
WHY THE CHINESE ATTACKED WITH CLUBS? I had a number of questions thrown at me today which was essentially variations of, "Why weren't the Indian soldiers armed during the patrol?" Well, in 1996, India and China signed an LAC treaty through which agreeing that "neither side shall use its military capability" against the other along their disputed border. Thus, it essentially means, 'No Military Weapons' to be used. Even if soldiers are carrying weapons, they are to be slung behind their back, so that it is always in a 'non-threatening' mode.  Thus, in all such 'confrontations', procedures have been set that weapons will not be unleashed. The soldiers are to unfurl banners stating 'You are in our territory. Please return'. Maintain a safe distance from each other. After the acknowledgement, turn back and leave. Well, that is the official code of conduct. However, some patrols have still tried to go forth and complete their mission.

The reality of Galwan..

Have no doubt that:  - the Chinese were camped INSIDE Indian territory.  - They were ready to instigate and attacked to kill. Indian troop were caught napping cos they reposed faith in the fact that Chinese would adhere to their word.  - China has instigated and escalated this in a very coldblooded manner and calculated manner. For that, the action would have to be approved at the highest level. There was nothing accidental about it. They would have sent in special troops who could act in that manner too. This wouldn't be normal border force. - This would mean that they want India to escalate so that they can teach India a lesson. They need to whup India to distract internal turmoil and show that they are the Big Boss of Asia. - The onus is now on India to not rush into any trap and yet escalate to punish, if they can.  - We HAVE suffered casualties and a lot. The Govt isn't being open about it.  - It will be safe to estimate that as the Chinese were the instigator, better plan

The actual Galwan conflict

Image
The Hindu reports on the Galwan conflict that: - The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) meticulously planned the attack on Indian troops in eastern Ladakh’s Galwan for at least two days prior to June 15. - They blocked small rivulets in heightened areas and then released water at high speed when Indian Army personnel appeared at the disputed site in Galwan area. “The strong gush of water made the men lose balance. The Chinese charged, pushed the Army personnel and many fell into the Galwan river”  - The Chinese did a reconnaissance by flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to see the strength of the Indian troops and accordingly bolstered their presence on the other side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the official stated. - The clash took place after Colonel Santosh Babu, who was commanding the unit, dismantled a tent erected by the Chinese and later set it on fire. During the June 6 military-level talks, the two sides decided to remove the tent. It has now emerged that the te

The India - China Galwan Face-off on June 15, 2020

SHEDDING LIGHT ON GALWAN INCIDENT - 15th JUNE I have tried to string together the various accounts to try and deduce a picture of what transpired on Monday, 15th June. The sources of these accounts are both public ones, like Shiv Aroor, Abhijit Iyer Mitra's and other's accounts; as also some 4-5 reports which have come in via friends with close area contacts.  Read this with the rider that the areas depicted on the map are my best guesstimates. In the absence of there being a coherent account/timeline of events, this is what I have been able to distil as the most probable scenario. If you have better information, please feel free to correct or add. I will make changes in the body text accordingly after separately ascertaining. THE BACK STORY The Galwan river is a tributary to the Shyok river. It flows in from East and then takes a sharp left turn (aligned with the flow of the river) on account of geological features, to go ahead and meet with the Shyok river. From the point whe

Chinese were thrashed by Indian soldiers

Image
China is used to seeing one facet of the Indian Army. That of soldiers who are polite and deferring, not keen on picking up an altercation, usually giving way. Showing passivity to aggression. They thought that this was the Indian character. What they didn't understand was, this was the Indian Army discipline.  The Indian Army will take a hit, but, if ordered to not respond, they won't respond. This kind of discipline is unknown to Armies who don't have professional soldiers. And the Chinese Army definitely doesn't have the kind of professional soldiers that Indian army does. Thus, while they, the PLA personnel, thought that it was cool to act like a pack of neighbourhood bullies, the stoicism and temperateness of Indians have been misread by the Chinese for a while now. The docileness of the personnel wasn't on account of National trait. It's brought about by Army higherups who kept suggesting to walk on eggshells, which again is brought about by Indian politic

China wants Himalayan tri-junctions

Image
🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼  * China's eye on Himalayan 'tri-junctions' *  There are a total of 4 important tri-junctions on the 4056 km long Indo-China border.  A 'tri-junction' is a small area where the borders of three countries meet.  This territory is militarily vulnerable.  These 'tri-junctions' are through the Himalayan entrance.  Which are in such a strategic position that the country which will take control of all these four tri-junctions will prevail in this tough Himalayan battlefield.  Because their geographical location provides tremendous leverage to the military.  These tri-junctions are as follows-  1.  Siachen Glacier  2.  Kalapani / Lipulekh Pass  3.  Doklama  4.  Diphu Pass  Fortunately, 4 of these 4 tri-junctions are under Indian rule.  Naturally, the Chinese dragon has a crooked eye.  So it is important to know the strategic importance of all these tri-junctions.  1.  Siachen Glacier-  India-Pakistan-China border only  It is available at Siachen Tri-

India China Stand-off - How a war will be fought..

India China Stand-off How this war will be fought? 1. China will unleash its army and try incursions in Indian Territory. 2. Pakistan will let loose fidayeen to wage a jihad through the porous birders of Kashmir and Rajasthan 3. Indian Army will retaliate and in the retaliation, it is natural to have casualties on both sides. 4. Chinese army will not acknowledge any casualties on their side and there is no way in finding out their casualties in terms of men as well as land, as their media is completely state controlled 5. Pakistan as usual will not own up its casualties and say that they were not their people  6. Indian Government and Army will release their number of casualties and also declare casualties of the other side (China as well as Pakistan) 7. Now the real warfare starts: a. A portion of Indian media will doubt the Indian government numbers as they are not the same as Chinese and Pakistani numbers b. The opposition parties will ask for proof of Chinese numbers and also proof

Why India & China FaceOff now?

Image
When you read history there is very little reference to Chinese and there minimal if any military conflicts with India and China. Which is why we are unable to view a Chinese as an enemy as they are able to view a Pakistani  *REASON* - China NEVER had a border with India historically. India's border was mostly with Tibet and to some extent central Asian East Turkestan.  What you see in Yellow here was 1949 China when Communists took over. They drove away socialists to Taiwan. Gobbled Tibet, Xinjiang & more.👇🏼👇🏼 There are 2 places in China called Heihe & Tengchong. If you draw an imaginary line connecting them, it roughly divides today's China into 2 halves.  The Eastern half has 94% of China's population! That was historic China. Most of the Western half was acquired with land grab. This map shows how China claims territory in India.  They claim Aksai Chin, parts of Ladakh, Shaksgam valley, parts of Uttarakhand and entire Arunachal Pradesh. Their approach is sim

The Galwan Face-off

Talks Again Between India, China Major Generals, First Round Inconclusive A day after inconclusive talks over the face-off in eastern Ladakh, a Major General of the Indian Army is holding talks with Chinese military officers at Galwan valley. The talks being held are in the area where violent clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers took place on June 15 night. 20 soldiers including a Colonel gave their lives for India, while Army sources have said they believe some 45 Chinese soldiers were killed or injured. At the moment, there are no signs of the Chinese disengaging from the area, sources said. The area is close to the Line of Actual Control or LAC between India and China in eastern Ladakh. China overran Indian posts in this area in the 1962 war, but since then has not frequently patrolled this area and has not asserted any territorial claims.  They now lay claim to the entire Galwan valley, which places them in a direct stand-off with the Indian Army. Chinese soldiers took "

Indian Army Calls off Chinese Bluff

*Indian Army Calls off Chinese Bluff* When more than 1000 soldiers clash, whether with barbed clubs sticks or baseball bats, 20 or 30 or 50 is a low figure. In the narrow gorge that defines the terrain at the point of contact in Gwalan valley in sub zero temperatures of High Altitude Areas of Ladakh, chances of  soldiers rolling down into the river and getting washed away in icy river are reasonably high. Expect more  casualties on both sides and that is one part of the story. *Looking beyond, the perpetual bully called China (whose 60% territory today actually never belonged to China, including white of TIBET/XINJIANG/UIGHUR/AKSAI CHIN/PARTS OF MONGOLIA) is talking about  'No War' WITH INDIA within a few hours of getting a bloodied nose BY INDIAN ARMY and that is something unprecedented.*   Those who follow Chinese closely, would get the point being made. Indo-China war will not happen!  China is in no position to wage a war with the whole world, except two nations, *staring C

India ‘working faster’ on bridge in Galwan Valley after China’s objections amid stand-off

Image
*India ‘working faster’ on bridge in Galwan Valley after China’s objections amid stand-off* As the stand-off with China along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh continues, India is busy finishing the bridge over the Galwan ‘nallah’ that the Chinese had objected. Government sources said work on the concrete bridge, which is set to replace an existing wooden bridge, is going on, and India has made it clear to the Chinese that it will carry on with border infrastructure development. China’s main concern in the Galwan Valley was this bridge. The work on the bridge, which is about 7 to 7.5 kilometres from the LAC, had started much earlier. However, around 10 May, the Chinese came to know of the construction and objected to it. However, the work on the bridge continues. The ongoing issues have only made us work faster on this bridge,” a senior official in the security and defence establishment said on the condition of anonymity. The bridge is part of a network of feeder roads that

75% roads on China border ready

75% roads on China border ready The proposed 11 roads, known as India-China Border Roads, are located along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh. The BRO also plans to complete about nine more such roads by March 2021. India is ramping up its infrastructure development along the border with China. The Border Roads Organisation has constructed 75 percent of the entire length of strategic roads along this border assigned to it, with plans afoot to finish 11 more by this year and nine more by next year, government officials said. The new 11 roads, known as India-China Border Roads (ICBRs), that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) plans to complete will be located along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh. The BRO also plans to complete about nine more such roads by March 2021. It has set a target to complete the 61 of the 73 ICBRs assigned to it in three years. The balance 12 roads are with the Central Public Wor

Why is China irked with India?

*Why is China irked with India?* India is continuing beefing up infrastructure for better connectivity to the Line of Actual Control with China, even as troops from both countries are locked in a standoff in Ladakh following China objecting to Indian road construction activities in the region. A major “milestone” has been achieved in the construction of a strategic tunnel in Uttarakhand that will provide faster mobility to troops and equipment to the border with China. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO)  said that it has achieved a breakthrough and a “perfect” linkup of the construction teams of the north and south portals of the Chamba tunnel. The tunnel will be opened for traffic by October 2020, this year, almost three months before its scheduled date of completion. Located below the densely populated Chamba town on the Rishikesh-Dharasu road, the tunnel is part of the Char Dham Pariyojana, a project worth about Rs 12,000 crore to improve and develop 889 km of national highways to
