१ ऑगस्ट २०२० हे लोकमान्य टिळकांचे  स्मृती शताब्दी वर्ष आहे.   गुलामगिरीचे जोखड तोडण्यास देशवासियांना जागृती देणार्‍या या महान सेनानी बद्दल कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करण्याचा हा दिवस. अखंड भारताचे स्वप्न पाहणार्‍या या महान नेत्याला प्रत्यक्षात ते साकार करण्या इतके आयुष्य लाभले नाही , हे आम्हा भारतीयांचे दुर्दैव !  परंतु त्यांचं कार्य आजही आम्हाला मार्गदर्शनकारी आहे. सार्वजनिक गणेशोत्सव आणि शिवजयंती उत्सव आपल्याला उपकारक ठरत आहेत. या उत्सवातुन कार्य करणारे पुढे नगरसेवक , आमदार, खासदार बनत आहेत. अनेकांच्या कलागुणांना इथे वाव मिळत आहे. नाटक सिनेमातुन दिसणारे कलाकार इथेच तयार होतात. जग प्रसिद्ध मंगेशकर बंधु भगिनींनी याच उत्सवातुन आपल्या जिवनाला आकार दिला. अनेक तरुण बेकांरांना इथे रोजगार मिळत आहे. बाहेर कितीही जातीयवाद बोकाळलेला असला तरी इथे सर्व जाती धर्माचे लोक एकत्र येऊन हा उत्सव साजरा करीत आहेत. सरकार जरी या उत्सवाकडे गांभिर्याने पहात नसले, तरी प्रत्येक कार्यकर्ता या उत्सवाचे पावित्र्य आणि गांभिर्य सांभाळण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत असतो.  लोकमांन्यांचा हा उत्सव आजही समाज घडविण्याचे कार्य करीत आहे. कार्यकर
