ALERT CITIZENS FORUM OF INDIA A7/303, Saket Complex Thane West Maharashtra 400601 # 8879528575 February 10, 2022. Hon. Minister of State for Railways, Union of India, Rail Bhavan, New Delhi 110001. Dear Sir, Sub: Renaming Mumbai Central Station as Nana Shankar Sheth Station. I am a BJP activist from Mumbai since past 30 years and have been an office bearer. I run an NGO Alert Citizens Forum of India, which is involved in civic activism and dedicated to improving city conditions to making life bearable for the citizens. In 2017, our Alert Citizens Forum of India had written to the then Railway Minister and requested that the Mumbai Central railway station should be renamed after Jagannath Nana Shankar Seth for his glorious contribution to the Mumbai City and the growth of railways in its pioneering years. Shiv Sena leader and MP from South Mumbai, Shri Arvind Sawant had supported our demand in Lok Sabha. Jagannath Nana Shankar Sheth is known as the builder of modern Mumbai and had mad

Request to reduce the NA tax percentage as the existing charges, imposed by the government are exorbitant.

Alert Citizens Forum of India - Sahakarsutra 102, Ekvira Apts, Uthalsar, Thane West 400601 March 14  2022 The Hon. Revenue Minister, Govt. Of Maharashtra, Mantralaya, Mumbai. Sub:  Request to reduce the NA tax percentage as the existing charges, imposed by the government are exorbitant. Dear Sir, With reference to the above, our submission is as under : 1) The Maharashtra government is sending bills of pending NA Tax to housing societies located in suburbs of Mumbai and also adjoining Thane based on 3 per cent of ready reckoner rate. Interestingly, in 2018 state had reduced the NA charges to 0.05 per cent, however, the bills have not been sent accordingly. NA tax is a British era surcharge applicable on land that has been diverted from agriculture for other purposes. 2) The said tax collection had been stayed since 2006, following strong opposition from citizens staying in suburbs. In 2017, again the government tried to collect the tax but following strong resistance from citizens it

Sub: Request to Declare 'The Kashmir Files' Tax-Free in Maharashtra. Respected Sir, Unlike what was wrongly announced by Home Minister Shri Dilip Walse Patil, The Kashmir Files' film, is a story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of the Genocide of Kashmiri Pandit Community In 1990. Written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and Produced by Zee Studios, the film depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir following systematic killings of people from the community by Pakistan-backed terrorists. It stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi among others. This film depicts for the first time the "correct and true depiction of atrocities inflicted by Muslim terrorists on the Hindu community" in Jammu and Kashmir. Exempting it fr

 * Convert, Flee or Die -  Raliv, Tsaliv, ya Galiv* *The Kashmir Files - utter neglect of the plight of Kashmiri Pandits.* Saw The Kashmir Files yesterday. The Kashmir Files tells the true story of brutal sufferings endured by Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the Kashmir insurgency. It is a true story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of Kashmiri Pandit Community. A lot has been written and said about the movie and hence here, I would not review the film - to avoid repetition. Instead, I would like to throw more light on the main issue of planned genocide of Hindu Kashmiri Pandits and their continued neglect there after. Planned Genocide. January 19 is observed as ‘Forced Migration Day’ by the Kashmiri Pandit community. In 1990, this day marked the large-scale exodus of this community from Kashmir Valley after mosques across the region echoed with slogans of “Raliv, Tsaliv, ya Galiv” – convert, flee, or die. 32 years since, Kashmiri Pand

*Mumbai: To Solve Problem of Flooding in Dadar And Parel during Monsoon, IIT Bombay suggests construction of Underground Holding Ponds* No Mumbai Monsoon is complete without several episodes of waterlogging in low-lying areas of the city, every season.  To address this annual ‘Ritual’  inundation problem in the low-lying areas of Sion, Dadar and Parel year after year, the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, has suggested the creation of a 17,000m2 underground holding pond at Purandare Stadium. In June 2021, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had directed the railway authorities to rope in IIT Bombay to suggest smart measures to quell monsoon woes. In its Preliminary Report, IIT Bombay had suggested the creation of holding ponds in the Dadar-Lower Parel areas, for immediate relief from flooding on tracks. “From our Analysis, the present pumping station, located at the St Xavier’s ground and Pramod Mahajan Park, in its present form, can cater to only around 10 per cent catchment of
