MODI’S NO NONSENSE STYLE OF FUNCTIONING.

MODI’S NO NONSENSE STYLE OF FUNCTIONING. We were in Delhi last week to meet and greet the new ministers of Modi Sarkar. On behalf of our Consumer Protection Service Council, myself and Ganesh Joshi extended invitations to a few Minister’s to come down to Thane where we would felicitate them. And the reply we got surprised us. All the Minister’s, without exception thanked us for the invite but stated that they cannot accept it atleast for 3 months as the Prime Minister has set a target to the Ministers to get acclimatized with the Ministry and submit their action plan for improvement in performance in 90 days. Quite persuasion and lead by example is Modi’s style. He is at his office at 8.30 am every morning. No bookish theories, give practical do-able policies, come thoroughly prepared for meetings, make bullet point presentations instead of bulky ones, be ready for followup meetings, and keep your offices clean — these are the highlights of Narendra Modi's working sty

MIDDLE CLASS EXPECTATIONS FROM ARUN JAITLEY’S BUDGET.

MIDDLE CLASS EXPECTATIONS FROM ARUN JAITLEY’S BUDGET. Union Finance Minister   Arun Jaitley   is expected to present his budget in the first week of July 2014. Middle class taxpayers are very expectant about the expected tax reliefs from Mr. Arun Jaitley due to the BJP slogan.” Aache Din Anne Wale Hai “. Tax Payers are optimistic because of Mr. Jaitley’s open advocacy of Increase in Income Tax Exemption Limit from time to time. In his interview with PTI in the first week of April, Mr. Jaitley advocated hike in income tax exemption limit, enhancement of excise limit for small industrial units up to Rs 5 crore and immediate implementation of the Goods and Service Tax (GST). Mr Jaitley further said that the current income tax exemption for income of Rs 2 lakh should be gradually but significantly raised. Then again on 21.04.2014 Mr. Arun Jaitley demanded hike in the Income Tax exemption limit from Rs Two lakh to Rs Five lakh. Mr Jaitley said that,”Direct Tax should be reduced.

10 ECONOMIC CHALLENGES FACED BY THE MODI GOVT. Narendra Modi has been sworn in as the new Prime Minister of India after leading the BJP to its most resounding victory in 30 years. Mr Modi has promised to unblock stalled investments in power, road and rail projects to revive economic growth that has fallen to a decade low of below 5 per cent. I am detailing below 10 immediate challenges faced by the Modi Govt. 1.                   Defence : More foreign investment in defence would help India reduce imports, modernise weapons systems and speed up deliveries of hardware it needs for operations and training. India, the world's biggest arms importer, now allows 26 per cent foreign ownership in defence, and proposals to exceed that limit are considered only for state-of-the-art technology. The BJP has said it would allow some greater foreign investment in defence industries. 2.                   Goods and Services Tax (GST) : India's most ambitious indirect tax reform
