Alert Citizens Forum impact: A few days ago, Ms. Nivedita Manoj Mohite posted her horrible experience on a BEST bus trip. We at Alert Citizens Forum forwarded her experience to the BEST authorities and demanded justice for her. Today I learnt that both the driver and conductor have been suspended from their jobs. The conductor came searching for me to Thane and profusely regretted the incident and requested that I should take back the complaint else they will lose their jobs. I feel that if one has learnt from his mistake and has been punished, he should get a second chance. Also suspension is a very harsh punishment. So, if Ms. Nivedita Mohite concurs with my view I propose to take back the complaint. Friends, let me know your opinion on the matter. After the open challenge thrown by the Election Commission fizzled out with political parties backing out, inspired critics of EVM machines are now clutching to every straw in the wind trying to nail EVMs. They have found one in an answer to a RTI query from Buldhana in Maharashtra where at one polling booth, the Election officer admitted that a machine had malfunctioned and he had ordered a repoll. बुद्धीजिवी नागरिकांना आवाहन - काँग्रेसी सरकार भ्रष्ट होते म्हणून मोदींचे सरकार निवडून दिले. त्याच्याही प्रत्येक निर्णयावर कथित बुद्धीजिवी तुटून पडताहेत. आपण खरं म्हणजे खुश राहण्याची आपली क्षमता गमावून बसलोय. आपली सहनशक्ती जवळपास संपत आलीय. एखादा निर्णय झाल्याबरोबर त्याचे चांगले - वाईट परिणाम दिसण्याआधीच टीकेची झोड उठवली जाते. याच कारणांमुळे बर्याच नेत्यांनी कुठलाही निर्णय घेण्याची उत्सुकता दाखवली नाही.  हा व्यक्ती किमान काही निर्णय घेवून काही जनताभिमुख सुधारणा आणण्याचा प्रयत ्न तरी करतोय तर बुद्धीजिवी लोक विनाकारण भ्रष्टाचारी लोकांना अनावधानाने का असेना साथ देताना दिसताय. भ्रष्टाचारी लोकांना तर मोदी नकोच आहे. पण इथे एक महत्त्वाचा मुद्दा आहे की, मोदी स्वतः पैसे खात नाही कुणाला खाऊ देत नाही. त्या माणसाने १२ वर्षे गुजरातचे नेतृत्व केले. विकासात पिछडलेला गुजरात सर्वात पुढे नेवून ठेवला. आज प्रत्यक्ष जावून बघा गुजरात मध्ये रस्ते आणि इतर प्राथमिक सुविधा इतर राज्यांच्या तुलनेत किती चांगल्या आहेत. आता पंतप्रधान असतानाही तो व्यक्ती १४-१६ तास काम करतो, विदेश दौऱ्यात हॉटेलात न थांबता विमान

Dr Peg's Advise... *सेफ ड्रिंकिंग कसे असावे.....* मद्य व केवळ पाणी यांचे मिश्रण सर्वोत्तम. कारण मद्याने शरीरारील पाण्याचे प्रमाण कमी होते. ते सोबतच्या पाण्याने भरून निघते. मद्य व सोडा यांचे मिश्रण त्यातील कार्बन-डाय-ऑक्साईड मुळे जठरात चांगले शोषले जाते. तसेच सोडा हा फक्त पाणी व कार्बन-डाय-ऑक्साईडचे मिश्रण असल्याने पोटातील अॅसिडिटीची पातळी वाढत नाही. उपाशी पोटी 60ml चा एक पेग (ज्याला large पेग म्हणतात) ग्लासात घेऊन त्यात 150ml वा अधिक पाणी/सोडा घालून तयार झालेलं मिश्रण अगदी हळूहळू घोटघोट घेण्याने अपेक्षित नशा मद्याच्या थोड्याशाच मात्रेने येऊ शकते. त्यासोबत एखादा तळलेला पापड वगैरे असेल तर त्याने वर सांगितल्याप्रमाणे जठराचे स्नायूंचे दरवाजे बंद होऊन मद्याचे शोषण त्वरित होऊ लागते. मद्य फळांच्या रसाबरोबर घेण्याने शरीराला आवश्यक पाणी व चोथा दोन्ही मिळतात. तसेच त्यातील शर्करा रक्तातील साखरेची कमी होणारी पातळीही थोडीफार नियंत्रणात ठेवते. मद्याचे शोषण होण्यासाठी त्याला चयापचय प्रक्रियेची फारशी गरज नसते. पण ते रक्तप्रवाहात मिसळून त्याचा मेंदूवर परिणाम होण्यासाठी काही वेळ जाणे
