Dear Sir, 1) On the night of April 16, two Hindu saints and their driver were traveling from Mumbai to Gujarat to attend the funeral of their senior seer. 2) While they were passing through a remote village by name Gadchinchle in Palghar District, apparently to circumvent the lockdown and closure of traffic on the highway, they were accosted by a huge mob of over 200 people, late in the night. 3) The victims were beaten to death with sticks and iron rods by the mob on suspicion that were kidnapping children to harvest organs, including kidneys. 4) The deceased were identified as Ch

The Maharashtra Chess board:

The Maharashtra Chess board: I think that the BJP is playing into the hands of the Mahavikas Aghadi. They have set the rules of the game. Even for a seasoned BJP Karyakarta like me, it is beyond my comprehension to put in perspective, 4 things that the party is doing: 1) The direction less hullalaboo done over the Palghar lynching. Strongly protesting against the brutal and savage murder of two unarmed Hindu saints was required and understandable. But, according to me, BJP lost the plot and the incident lost its seriousness when they sought to find reasons which were not apparently there - Muslim angle or Christian Missionaries? In this the grave issues of dereliction of police duty and how so many people could defy the lockdown - fell by the wayside. Uddhav Thackeray knew exactly how the BJP would react and the party obliged him and the sting in the case was gone. 2) The Arnab episode: I am totally at loss to understand why BJP is fighting Arnab's battle. Why is the p

I salute my heroes..

Thank you  😊 When facing hard times, it’s a good idea to remember that there are people in your life that you can rely on for help. These people form your social support system. Many times, just thinking about them and realizing that they are there for you in case you need them provides you a lot of emotional comfort and it gives you more courage to push forward. You may not even need to actually ask them for help. Just knowing it’s available will embolden you and that will be sufficient. In these troubled times, I pay my tribute to these heroes...

Ordinance to amend the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 in the light of the pandemic situation of COVID-19

Image
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Promulgation of an Ordinance to amend the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 in the light of the pandemic situation of COVID-19 During the current COVID-19 pandemic, there have been instances of the most critical service providers i.e. members of healthcare services being targeted and attacked by miscreants, thereby obstructing them from doing their duties. Members of the Medical community, even as they continue to perform relentlessly round the clock and save human lives, have unfortunately become the most vulnerable victims as they have been perceived by some as carriers of the virus. This has led to cases of their stigmatization and ostracization and sometimes worse, acts of unwarranted violence and harassment. Such a situation tends to hamper the medical community from performing their duties to their optimum best and maintaining their morale, which is a critical need in this hour of national health crisis. While healthcare service personnel ar

RSS and the freedom struggle.

RSS and the freedom struggle. A lot is being talked about at periodic intervals about the participation of the RSS in the freedom struggle. Today's Congress, which apart from the name, has nothing to do with that time's Congress, and its stooges are on the forefront of this unnecessary debate. This is an attempt to answer back, knowing fully well that these people will not be satisfied. RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ) was formed on September 27,1925 in Nagpur on Vijayadashmi day by Dr Keshav Hedgewar . RSS was formed on the backdrop of the Malabar riots in which Mapilla Muslims from Kerala, in a well orchestrated manner killed Hindus. India got Independence in 1947 - 22 years after RSS was formed. From 1925 to 1945, RSS was in nascent stage - still growing. In the meantime, in 1940, Dr Hedgewar passed away and was succeeded by Guruji Golwalkar. So coming to the contribution of RSS in the freedom movement . Mentioning some facts below and then leave it to your wisdom

Facts on the controversy around prices of Rapid Antibody tests

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Facts on the controversy around prices of Rapid Antibody tests First of all, it is important to understand the background in which procurement decisions are made by ICMR. Testing is one of the most crucial weapons to fight COVID-19 and ICMR is doing everything it can to ramp up testing. This requires procurement of kits and supplying them to states. This procurement is being undertaken when globally there is huge demand for these test kit s and various countries are applying their full might, monetary and diplomatic, to acquire them. ICMR’S first attempt to procure these kits did not elicit any response from the suppliers. Its second attempt got adequate responses. Of these responses, taking sensitivity and specificity in mind, kits of 2 companies (Biomedemics and Wondfo) were identified for procurement. Both had the requisite international certifications. For Wondfo, evaluation committee got 4 bids and the corresponding quotes rece

Homemade Face Masks to Contain COVID-19

Image
At present, the world is reeling under the disastrous COVID-19 pandemic. Our nation has also been greatly affected by this disease. Both the Central and State governments have been working incessantly to contain this crisis. Along with the initiatives undertaken by the government, we can also adopt certain precautionary measures to stay safe such as maintaining social distancing, frequently washing hands with soap and water, rubbing hands with hand sanitiser, etc. Such efforts can go a long way in controlling the spread of infection. Another important measure to contain the spread of this highly contagious disease is wearing face masks. It is essential to wear a face mask whenever you leave the house both for your own safety and of those around you. As the demand for commercial face masks is quite high, they can be easily prepared at home with the help of clean cotton fabric, hand/machine sewn in the shape of a face mask. Things to keep in mind while making homemade face mask

Locally manufactured Protective gear kits to safeguard frontline workers

Image
The outbreak of pandemic COVID -19 has converged people of the Nation to stand united in the fight against this deadly virus. In these testing and challenging times, there is a major challenge faced by the Government of India, which is the inadequate supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits, especially during  an extensive demand for the same. Government of India along with local Administration jointly are trying to address and resolve this surging issue. In Ranchi, the District Administration has tried to innovatively resolve the persisting problem, by introducing protective gear and protective face masks being locally manufactured in the district for the frontline workers, which are both cost effective and safe at the same time. The local District Administration is currently manufacturing two types of protective gear: 1) made of 90GSM Tarpaulin plastic, reusable after a wash and 2) made of 50 GSM LDPE,  easily disposable after a single use. Production of the gear is

Best Practices to Prevent Yourself from COVID-19

Image
District Administration-Ranchi has been on the front foot to combat Covid-19 pandemic from the very beginning. They started taking immediate measures, such as placing adequate checkpoints at areas that were exposed to people travelling in from outside Ranchi and planned to work on preventive measures instead of the curative ones. The administration began its work by outlining a plan and releasing guidelines on Covid-19 preparedness. These guidelines had information on all the sub-groups defined by the administration and gave their interventions a structure. While following this, they stumbled upon the shortage and affordability of a basic need during the Coronavirus outbreak – Hand Sanitizers. Markets were locking down on them, sanitisers were already being sold at around five times the price and it was becoming an exclusive product. To tackle this situation, they tried to create alternate solutions for an efficient hand rub. To initiate this, it was decided to utilise their r
