Sub: Alert Citizens Forum welcomes TMC action against Hotels sans Licenses and Safety approvals.

The Alert Citizens Forum of India has welcomed the action taken by the Thane Municipal Corporation against Restaurants and Hotels operating without valid licenses and safety approvals, informs Dayanand Nene, President of the Forum.
Mr Nene congratulated the Municipal Commissioner Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal for the bold step taken by him without succumbing to political pressures.
Today morning the TMC squad demolished illegal extensions and sealed hotels operating without valid licenses and flouting safety norms.
Notable amongst them were Sai Krupa hotel at Talao Pali, Whr We met, Talli Lounge, The Bar Index and The Dansing Bottle Lounge.
Alert Citizens Forum volunteers were on the spot at different locations in Thane to assist the authorities in controlling the onlookers and crowd.
Mr. Nene added that Alert Citizens Forum has in the past always alerted the TMC about hotels flouting safety norms - the complaint against United 21 being a case in point.
He regretted that under political pressure the TMC then had not taken any action against United 21 despite the fact that it's Fire Department had not issued it an NOC.
Mr. Nene stated that unfortunately it took the fire in Kamala Nehru Compound and death of 14 innocent people for various Corporation's to wake up and take action.
Mr Nene has requested the Municipal Commissioner to also take action against the erring Corporation officials who have been supporting/protecting such hotels and restaurants.
