#Dombivli is sitting on a time bomb
The #Dombivli Disaster
It will be blatantly erroneous to label the explosion at the chemical/pharmaceutical factory at Dombivli (which houses around 1700 chemical factories in MIDC area spread out in 362 hectares), as an accident !
What happened at Dombivli factory (May 26, 2016... at 11.00 a.m.) was definitely not an accident..... Accidents occur unintentionally, the Dombivli incident prima facie falls under the category of CULPABLE HOMICIDE NOT AMOUNTING TO MURDER (sec-304 IPC).
It was an "incident of accident" that was very much waiting to happen, being deeply rooted in rank-corruption at all governmental levels (especially, state factory-inspection and pollution-control departments along with police-administration), cancerous growth of 'Contract-Labour System' and active criminal-connivance of all party-Politicians with company managements and beaurocrats....... a three-pronged evil that " Alert Citizens Forum of India" is striving to eradicate and has been ceaselessly and repeatedly vocal about !
Five persons have lost their lives and hundreds are injured in this tragic occerance. However, the fate of these workers gets sealed, the moment they put in their first steps inside such factories, which operate with utter disregard to safety-standards. The politicians-official nexus allows 'free play' for such factories to operate, even when the safety standards are blatantly compromised, putting the lives of the workers and those residing near such factories at grave risk.
These flexible or cheap labours, who most commonly are migrants, work for abysmal salaries and for them raising their voice for safety concerns or other service-conditions is a big luxury, they can never afford. They are NOT 'free-citizens' of India, but 'bonded-labours' of so called 'Modern-India', reduced to slaves and neo-untouchables, destined to peripheral-existence in this hightech 'digital-era', .... termed as 'CONTRACT-WORKERS' ! Those residing in and around the hazardous industrial zone of Dombivli MIDC, spread out in 362 hectares and housing around 1700 chemical companies, vehemently state that such explosions and highly polluting gas-purges and half-treated or untreated hazardous-dangerous effluents, posing long-term grave threat to all life-forms.... is a normal phenomenon. Tens of hundreds of workers in Dombivli, have fallen victim to these health-hazards and died of dreaded diseases like various types of cancer, which of course, goes unreported !
According to some sources, this was the second boiler explosion (in fact a reactor-explosion !) at Dombivli MIDC in 2016. What this means is, irrespective of Congress-NCP or BJP-Shiv Sena combine ruling the state, the industries continue to operate under hazardous conditions and in hazardous way, to earn astronomical-profits, with total disregard to safety-standards and provisions. For all these political parties, 'workers' are merely an 'in-put' in industrial -action...... the life of the workers is so insignificant for them that they intend to do nothing to positively transform the unsafe industrial work-environment and raise workers' standard of living.
It was a "homicide" and NOT an accident… A Much Bigger And Devastating Version Could Unfold Tomorrow !!!
