Do this much for your country.
Dear friends,
I am an ordinary citizen of India. Our country is going through a difficult phase. All of you know why. I am as disturbed as any of you.
We, as citizens of this great country are in it together. We should help our country fight it's way out of this problem. I agree there are scores of people doing what they can, individually, without looking for recognition. Then there are others who do their bit of service and market it too. I don't mind it as it is only human tendency to long for praise. But it is disturbing to see a vast majority simply sit around criticising the Government, politicians, virus, doctors and of course Fate. For them, no problem is a problem as long as government solves it. These are the kind of people who, given a chance, would even advise Tendulkar on cricket. But alas, this time it is not a game.
I have a proposal, which to my mind, is a simple and effective way of helping our country get over the economic stress caused by Corona. Government can not do everything as it doesn't have the money. I respect them for not resorting to myopic measures like printing money. Not many governments would have passed up such a chance!.
Well, if government is short of funds what can ordinary folks like us do?.
I pledge to spend at least Rs 10,000 (ten thousand) extra over and above what I otherwise would have spent in the next one year. That is less than 1000 rupees per month. If , even 5 crore out of our 130 crore (less than 4%) population does that, it will be 50000 crore rupees pumped into the economy in a year!. I am doing it. Would you!?
If you are willing, my humble request is that you buy stuff like textiles, handicrafts, fruit products etc, which creates more jobs. Be sure to buy stuff made in India,( not necessarily by Indian companies). Our country needs jobs now. Jobs won't come by unless there's demand. It is only us who can create that demand.
I rest my case here. I feel it is worth trying to kindle this zeal in our society. The country needs us now. Let us not ask what country has done for us. Now is the time to ask ourselves what we can do for the country.
If you agree with me please help me spread this message by forwarding to as many groups as possible. When the country's economy is rebuilt finally, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that one of the bricks has been laid by you
Namaskar.
