Letter to #RaosahebDanve regarding #SitaramRane appointment on Rashtriya Parishad of #BJP
Shri Raosaheb Danve ji,
President,
BJP, Maharashtra Pradesh,
Mumbai.
Respected Danvesaheb,
My name is Dayanand Jayant Nene and currently I reside in Thane.
I have been associated with the party since 1993.
Prior to that, I have worked with Vidyarthi Parishad. I have also done my 1st year OTC from the Police Ground shakha in Baroda, Gujarat, many years ago.
During this period I have had the privilege of working with party stalwarts like Shri Pramodji Mahajan, Vinay Sahasrabudhe, Shyam Jaju, Chandrakant Patil, Kirit Somaiya and Vinod Tawde to Atul Bhatkhalkar, Ashish Shelar, Parag Alavani. I have handled the responsibility of being the Press Secretary of BJP Mumbai and I have been member of the Pradesh and Mumbai Karyakarini too.
The party had nominated me on the Film Censor Board also.
The reason for giving such an elaborate introduction is to brief you that I have been an active member and am well versed with the functioning of the party.
The purpose of writing you this letter is an incident which came to my attention yesterday.
I came across a banner - which is attached herewith for your perusal.
The banner congratulated one Mr. Sitaram Rane on his being elected to the Rashtriya Parishad of the party.
Saheb, the banner disturbed me as Sitaram Rane has recently joined the party from the Congress and I am not aware of he having done anything exemplary in the party to merit such an appointment.
Saheb, what is the basis now on which people are elected to our Rashtriya Parishad.
Earlier, I presume it was a person's stature in the party, his contribution to the party, his contribution to the society and therefore his usefulness to the party, he belonging to a certain caste or class whose representation in the party was not there and hence promoting some such person, he being a celebrity and would attract more people to the party, he being an intellectual who would contribute in shaping the thought process of the party, he is a popular mass leader who would be a good investment for the party over the next 15-20 years..
These are some reasons I can think of....in today's world, I will add one more - he is a good fund raiser for the party.
Saheb, request you - as in what category Mr. Sitaram Rane falls for him to be elected /selected /nominated /appointed to the Rashtriya Parishad?
What sort of signal is the party leadership giving to the dedicated cadre/ senior activists and leaders at different levels?
On one hand 18 months have passed since our government was formed and we have not even appointed SEO's, thus giving a slice of our rule to the grassroots karyakarta.
I will not speak about various Mahamandals.
And over and above the party is doling out positions to outsiders.?
I have no issues with Mr. Sitaram Rane but the organization structure in Thane is so brittle that this appointment can vitiate the atmosphere, especially in a election year - TMC elections are due in January 2017.
Please dont misunderstand me. I am respecting and not intending to question your authority - which I know is supreme.
You may get angry or annoyed with me for this letter.
If you do, then the purpose of writing the letter will be served because I am not asking anything for myself and therefore highlighting issues which other leaders / members have in mind but are afraid to speak out as they are expecting something from you.
Again, please don't misunderstand. I request you for an appointment so I can interact with you better.
Regards,
Dayanand Nene
